Nothing good EVER comes in the mail these days!
I remember when i was a child I would
n down to the mail box when i heard the mailmans bike zooming down the street. I would wonder what goodies he may have in his mail bag for me. A letter from nan? Or maybe my newest stamps for my collection?
Super single mother
Im a single mother trying to balance motherhood, full time uni and work. I have created this blog in order to hopefully find others in my situation to chat and exchange ideas.

The old sticky tape up the nose ploy!
When your child tells you a girl from scripture has pushed sticky tape up his nose, you are probably not likely to believe such a story (especially when there is no sign of sticky tape inside his nose).
When your son asks you to look up his nose again and you see nothing... you assure him that there is nothing in there.
When he starts crying and begging you to take him to the hospital because his nose hurts.. its time for a closer inspection.
When, with a torch light in hand and a pair of eyebrow tweezers in the other, you pull from the back of his nostrils a rolled up piece of sticky tape about the size of a large crayon... Don't be surprised...He has been telling you it has been up there all afternoon!

Well well... a full year in and only 3 posts
It seems my hectic lifestyle has kept me from my blogging duties. When I started this blog, my intentions were to use it to document my journey through university life as a single mum. In hopes to one day look back and laugh and my misfortunes and triumphs. Kind of like keeping a diary...but a not so private one.
Did i really believe that i could keep this up with as a full time student single mother with a part time job? Yes! at the time I did.
I love writing and although i have been blogging and writing features for assignments, I have really missed writing about the events that have happened in my life.
So now i am taking the opportunity to vent the last six months of my life by putting it all down in point form for future viewing.

- I have worked really hard at Uni and managed to receive mostly distinctions with a few credits.
- Scored a part time gig booking entertainment.
- Endured the long and draining process of making a parenting plan through mediation (what a nightmare that was).
- Met my new baby niece Kirra (so, so cute, but not enough to get this little black duck clucky!)
- Had an insane idiot of a man try and throw a pot plant through my balcony window and had to call the police.
- Performed first aid on the man who tried to throw a pot plant through my window, after he fell from the balcony and knocked himself unconscious when trying to make a run for it (yes you are reading this right). But hey, I can laugh about it now.
- My son has lost 5 teeth and apparently the going rate for a tooth these days is $2 dollars! huh, damn inflation! I'm sure i only received 20 cents for mine.
Hopefully if I blog a bit more I will attract some more followers (2 followers...how pathetic!)

Third week
I was starting to think i had life licked. Third week in and i was sitting pretty. That was until assignments that seemed so far away are now due at the end of this week and keep coming for weeks to come. Everything in life from the grocery shopping, school, work, uni among other activities needs to be scheduled. But, I'm being positive and i know i like to be busy so chin up and get to it. I'm not the first single mother to be this busy and I'm sure i wont be the last.
I wonder if other single mothers who study and work have a secret for success?

First day of blogging and second day of Uni
After a rough morning filled with complaints from my son about the cold weather, uncomfortable shoes and his fave cartoon being removed from the TV, the day has been quite good. Jay is at kindergarten and I'm at uni. Troubles with timetables are working out slowly. I'm hoping to get jay into an after hours school program as i don't finish till 4:30 some days... if they would only answer the phone so i can enquire about a booking.
I must say I'm a little annoyed at the young uni students complaining about there timetables... maybe time management skills come with age.
